The hub, which will be housed in a new building in the heart of the Te Kāika grounds, will provide access to Southern District Health Board mental health services as well as outpatient clinics for a variety of services like as paediatrics, rheumatology, endocrinology, cardiology, and diabetes.
Te Kāika, which opened in 2018 on the site of the former College Street School, has grown to offer a comprehensive range of health, dental, and advising services in a one-stop-shop approach.
It has also taken the lead in the COVID-19 immunisation effort, organising clinics for a Māori and Pasifika people as well as hosting mass vaccination clinics at the Edgar Centre and Forsyth Barr Stadium.
